Go SGV
This project was a collaboration between Active San Gabriel Valley (Active SGV) and students from the Design for Environmental Behavior Change (EA 185) course at The Hive at the Claremont Colleges. Active SGV partnered with Gotcha, a United States based ride-share and alternative transportation company, to introduce electric bike sharing to the San Gabriel Valley. This joint team was named "Go SGV", and we coordinated with an Active SGV liaison from this team. As a group, we chose to focus on the City of Pomona for our human centered design process to introduce the Gotcha bike share program. After conducting interviews with Pomona residents and a Gotcha contact, the team advocated for physical docking stations in addition to digital drop-off zones. The team also prototyped and gathered feedback on two ideas for these stations: community bike guides, and community boards. The Covid-19 quarantine began mid-semester, so the project went online. We continued to expand on these ideas while also looking more into marketing and policy to make the roll-out of these bikes as smooth as possible, and compiled our work into an "E-Bike Share Roll-Out Plan" deliverable.

This roll-out plan is meant to help facilitate Go SGV's introduction of electric bike sharing to the City of Pomona, and eventually to other cities in the San Gabriel Valley. This plan outlines our process, as well as the strategies we believe would facilitate a stable and long-lasting cooperation between the companies, the local government, and its people.

Thank you to my amazing team--I had a great time working with all of you!
